How to set yourself up for success in 2025

By Danielle Arlotta, CFP

We always hear about setting new years resolutions. But, we don’t hear much about how to finish out the year. Probably because between family, friends, and work our other obligations fall to the side. There are certain things that need to get done before the end of the year, and others help to start the new year off fresh.

Below are some things that we are thinking about for our clients:

  • Take any required distributions from inherited IRAs.
  • Make charitable donations.
  • Consider Roth conversions, but we recommend engaging a professional for these.
  • Spend the money in your FSA. You can use the FSA store. Most pharmacies like Duane Reade and CVS also have their own FSA section.
  • If you have an HSA, and can contribute more, contribute to that account.
  • Make sure you have your health insurance settled before open enrollment closes.
